CULTURE MINISTER AT OPEN UNIVERSITY CINEMA

The Rt Hon Ed Vaizey MP, minister of state for culture, communications and the creatve industries, attended the end-of-season gala of the second Open University Cinema, (after OC SIFA Fireside), on 1 July 2013.

Also there for the panel discussion after a screening of "Marley" was the film's Oscar-winning director Kevin Macdonald, the OU's head of widening participation Michala Robertson and Crisis director of policy (and reggae expert!) Duncan Shrubsole.

The minister distributed OU/OC certificates of achievement, Michala offered OU fellowships to film club members, and Kevin offered work as extras on his new film, Black Sea. You don't get that at your local fleapit!
